Panto Review; Aladdin at Tyne Theatre & Opera House

*Disclaimer; I was gifted the tickets in exchange for this review. All views and opinions are that of my own.*

Nothing say’s Christmas like a fun-filled family Pantomime! You’ll have seen on my social media that we were invited along to the press night of this years pantomime, Aladdin, at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House. The evening started out as a bit of a nightmare unfortunately as we couldn’t find anywhere to park so Gareth ended up dropping us off and went home! So he missed it but I have a feeling he secretly enjoyed the peace!

It’s no secret that I’m a panto fan and when I received the invite I was so excited, especially as it was Billy’s first time attending one. My sister and I took Violet to the Tyne Theatre panto a couple of years ago and we absolutely LOVED it, so we were hoping this years would be just as good, if not better.

I’m over the moon to be able to say that it was absolutely fantastic!! Charlie Richmond (Wishee Washee) and Lewis Denny (PC Pong) stood out for me again, although I still personally feel that there just wasn’t enough of Lewis in this years performance. Marcus Collins was proper fantastic as the Genie too, an absolute star. Nic Westaway played a cracking Aladdin and David Easter was absolutely brilliant as Abanazar.

I was a bit worried that Billy might not stay interested in the whole performance and get a bit adjitated but he honestly didn’t take his eyes off the stage. The kids got themselves right into it, singing along, dancing, shouting and booing at the usual moments and when the bubbles started filling the room at one point they were amazed! As a parent it’s absolutely incredible to see your kids face light up with amazement and this panto certainly did that.

You can book your tickets here which I would highly recommend you do if you’re looking for something to take the kids to over the Christmas break. They’re doing a couple of shows most days and it runs until the 5th of December.
